Sacristan

The Sacristan Ministry comprises a dedicated group of parishioners responsible for preparing the Holy Eucharist for the celebration of the Mass. They ensure that the credence table and gifts are ready, arriving at church before anyone else to complete their tasks with reverence and without haste, contributing to the smooth flow of the Mass. They meticulously care for the various items used in worship, upholding their dignity, respect, and functionality.

Our schedule is prepared quarterly, with every effort made to accommodate vacations and honor time-off requests. While it is preferable for our Sacristans to be available for all Masses, we do honor specific Mass requests. Formation Meetings are held occasionally throughout the year to provide ongoing support and education.

Requirements for Sacristans:

• Registered parishioners with St. Jose Luis Sanchez del Rio Catholic Church
• Up to date Virtus training
• Trained as a Eucharistic Minister
• In good standing with the Catholic Church
